The University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences, recently marked a significant milestone with the joyous celebration of its 30th anniversary. The festive occasion brought together distinguished guests, esteemed faculty members, and students to commemorate the outstanding achievements that have shaped the journey of our esteemed institution.
The event was graced by the presence of notable individuals, including the Dean of the University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences, Assoc Prof Mateja Lorber, PhD, and esteemed guests such as Monika Ažman, President of the Chamber of Associations, Mrs. Nataša Vidnar, Director General of the Directorate of Health Care at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia, and Prof. Dr. Zdravko Kačič, the Rector of the University of Maribor.
A highlight of the celebration was the recognition and acknowledgment of excellence in various domains. We proudly presented prizes, commendations, and awards to faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in education, scientific research, and professional fields. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all those who have contributed to the success of our students and the advancement of our institution.
We are pleased to announce the conferment of the honorary title of "Honorary Visiting Professor" upon Prof. Jean Watson, recognizing her outstanding professional, scientific, and pedagogical qualities. Additionally, certificates of appreciation were awarded to UKC Maribor and the Medical Center dr. Adolfa Drolca Maribor for their long-term collaboration and significant contributions to the development of the faculty.
The celebration also saw the recognition of individuals for their exceptional contributions:
- Prof Majda Pajnkihar, PhD, received recognition for her outstanding achievements in the field of education.
- Assoc Prof Sabina Fijan, PhD, was honored for her noteworthy contributions to scientific research.
- Assist. Kassandra Musovič received the acknowledgment for outstanding pedagogical and research achievements.
- Assist Cvetka Krel was recognized as the "A Mentor in a Clinical Environment" for her mentorship to students.
- Ines Mlakar and Špela Metličar received awards for their merit in the performance of professional work.
- The Dean's Award was presented to Špela Metličar for her research project on "Bibliometric analysis of scientific contributions in the field of emergency medicine."
