Postgraduate 3rd degree study programme NURSING CARE

NURSING CARE

Duration of study: 3 years (180 ECTS)

Scientific title: Doktor znanosti or doktorica znanosti (abbreviation: dr.)

The third cycle study programme Nursing Care enables students to gain an education from the field of nursing care. Students will be able to develop scientific research work (independent research work based on a specific problem), models, procedures and processes of nursing as a core of knowledge for practice and education. This will enable the connection of theoretical models and concepts in practice and the application of scientific evidence, which is the basis for evidence-based health care.

The third cycle study programme Nursing Care stands as a core of future development of scientific-research work at higher education and research institutions and will enable to reduce the gap between theory and practice and the development of science to support the development of nursing care as a scientific discipline in Slovenia.

The doctoral study programme enables a deeper understanding of theoretical and methodological concepts, qualification for independent development of new core knowledge and solving most demanding problems with testing and improving known, and developing new solutions, to lead most demanding work systems and scientific-research projects of a vast professional or scientific field.
