The second cycle professional study programme Nursing Care, option Public Health is based on the current needs of society, the health care system, and social care system.
The option of Public Health educates health workers in the field of public health, which is consistent with health promotion and the Resolution on the National Health Care Plan 2016-2025 "Together for a Health Society" (ReNPZV16-25). The epidemic of the infectious disease COVID-19 has also contributed to the understanding of the direct and indirect benefits of educated health workers in the field of public health.
The study enables the acquisition of in-depth knowledge with a range of subjects in the field of health, social, public health, and environmental sciences. Students will acquire competencies in the field of knowledge of health systems, legislation on environmental protection, public and environmental health, exposure to dangerous chemicals from the environment, physical effects on humans and their health and their deterministic physiological effects, basic ecological concepts, epidemiological methods, infectious diseases and hospital infections, systems theory and conceptual frameworks of informatics, and the impact of public policies, the private sector, climate change, and sustainable food supply.
