DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF MASTER’S DEGREE IN PALLIATIVE CARE PROGRAMME
Palliative care is an interdisciplinary medical caregiving approach aimed at optimizing the quality of life and mitigating suffering among people with serious, complex illnesses. The reasons for launching this programme are the lack of education and experts in the field of palliative care due to the increasing number of people with incurable chronic and malignant diseases.
The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, Osijek is the holder and contractor of this programme, in cooperation with the University of Maribor Faculty of Health Sciences and the University of Sarajevo.
The program is fully funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
The objective of this programme is to develop a national standard of knowledge and skill of palliative care providers and necessary competencies, based on contemporary scientific knowledge in the care for a palliative patient and under ethical and integrative principles.
The opening conference will be held on March 14th 2022, at the University of Maribor Faculty of Health Sciences, Žitna ulica 15, Maribor, Slovenia, starting at 2 p.m.
