The University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences will be visited in May 2022 by a Fulbright specialist from the United States, professor at The George Washington University School of Nursing, Assoc Prof Joyce Knestrick, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN.
Dr Joyce Knestrick has years of experience and exceptional expertise in advanced clinical practice. She is very active in maintaining high-quality education in advanced nursing. She is the author of numerous publications and the recipient of several awards in nursing. She was also president of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in the previous term.
The visit of Professor Joyce Knestrick will take place within the framework of the Fulbright program of the US Embassy in Slovenia and means the continuation and deepening of cooperation between UM FHS and GWUSON. The purpose of the visit is to share knowledge and experience in advanced nursing education, conduct workshops for employees, lectures and seminars for graduate students, and analyse ANP study programs. Dr Knestrick will help promote the role of nurses in advanced nursing practice and their scope of practice to all Slovenian stakeholders.
She will also be lecturing at the Research Afternoon for higher education teachers, researchers, students, graduates and external collaborators - you are kindly invited!
