We are sincerely grateful to Prof Majda Pajnkihar, PhD, RN, FAAN, FEANS, for many years of excellent leadership and management of the University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences. Prof Majda Pajnkihar, PhD, RN, FAAN, FEANS, led the faculty as Dean from October 21st 2012, to February 28th 2021. Her contribution to the faculty's reputation and the nursing profession development in Slovenia and abroad is exceptional.
Under her leadership, the Faculty of Health Sciences had designed several postgraduate study courses in nursing and became the first higher education institution to develop the advanced nursing practice master study programmes and a nursing PhD study programme in Slovenia. During her tenure, the faculty became an internationally recognized, desirable and respected institution, which involves many internationally recognized experts, the latest knowledge and research findings in its implementation of study programmes, and expands its international network with numerous research projects. Prof Majda Pajnkihar, PhD, RN, FAAN, FEANS, is a pioneer in nursing theories research in the Slovenian environment and a person. On account of her excellent work, knowledge, research, leadership, and respect contributed to the University's and faculty's recognition in Europe and around the globe, for which we truly thank her.
