Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming healthcare, promising higher quality, greater evidence-based practice, and better outcomes for patients. However, the absence of global guidelines for integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare curricula makes it difficult to systematically implement and reliably evaluate learning content and software solutions.
Three measures will be implemented as part of the project, namely (1) the development of recommendations for the use of artificial intelligence in the teaching process in healthcare, (2) transfer of research results in the field of artificial intelligence use in the teaching process, and (3) development of a center for the use of artificial intelligence in the teaching process.
In line with the strategic objectives of the University of Maribor Strategy 2021-2030 (University of Maribor, 2021), we will contribute to ensuring high-quality regular study and extracurricular content by incorporating new technologies based on artificial intelligence into the proposed development goal. In this way, we will contribute to the recognition of our students both within Slovenia and in the wider international environment, as with the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the use of artificial intelligence systems in healthcare, they will represent a highly qualified workforce with a modern set of skills in line with global trends in healthcare.
