DOCTORAL DISSERTATION TOPIC APPLICATION: 

The doctoral student submits the doctoral dissertation topic application with attachments to  the  competent  student  affairs  office in printed and electronic form (sent to drzn.fzv@um.si in PDF format or sent on a USB stick). 

Annex 1: DOCTORAL DISSERTATION TOPIC APPLICATION AND THE CONSENT OF THE PROPOSED SUPERVISOR AND CO-SUPERVISOR OF DOCTORAL STUDIES   

Mandatory attachments of the doctoral dissertation topic application from the previous paragraph are:

• one spirally bound copy of the dissertation disposition
• list of scientific and other works or achievements related to doctoral studies (a printout from the COBISS system or portfolio, if works are not entered in the COBISS system)
• ANNEX 2: EXPERT OPINION ON THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION TOPIC (with the proposal of an external evaluator)
• Annex H_DOCTORAL DISSERTATION TOPIC PRESENTA (UM FHS 2024)
• Annex A: PROPOSAL OF SUPERVISOR FOR A DOCTORATE  (UM FHS 2024)
• Annex B: PROPOSAL OF CO-SUPERVISOR FOR A DOCTORATE  (UM FHS 2024)
• Annex C:  JUSTIFICATION OF SUPERVISOR'S, CO-SUPERVISOR'S OR EXTERNAL EXPERT'S SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY (UM FHS 2024)
• In the case of co-supervision: Demonstration of the Supervisor’s and Co-Supervisor’s Role in Research Work of the Doctoral Student (the form is not prescribed)

The disposition of the doctoral dissertation must be written in accordance with the guidelines for the preparation of the disposition of the doctoral dissertation (Annex D).   

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND THE SUBMISSION OF THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION

Within no more than 4 years from the date on which the doctoral dissertation topic was approved by the UM Senate, the doctoral student shall submit the final version of the doctoral dissertation Until the Statement in Annex 6 is signed by the supervisor, the submission of the doctoral dissertation shall not be possible and the procedure shall not continue.   

Prior to submitting the doctoral dissertation, the doctoral student shall have at least one published work derived from the doctoral dissertation for which he is the first author. The published work shall be considered relevant if it is a scientific article published in a journal with an impact factor (JCR) and classified in the upper-three quarters according to the value of the impact factor, or a patent with complete testing. A confirmation from the SCI, SSCI, or AHCI journals that the article has been approved for publication or that it has been included on the list of articles pending for publication with an assigned DOI shall also be considered relevant.

The doctoral student submits the doctoral dissertation together with:

• similarity report (DKUM). If the doctoral dissertation is corrected, it must be resubmitted to the DKUM system,
• Annex 6: signed supervisor's (and co-supervisor's) Statement on the Eligibility of the Doctoral Dissertation and Publications of Doctoral Dissertation Findings,
• Annex E: proofreader's confirmation of proofread at the 3rd cycle study programme (UM FHS 2024)
• Annex G: confirmation on technical examination of the doctoral dissertation (UM FHS 2024)
• Annex 4:STATEMENT OF AUTHORSHIP AND IDENTITY BETWEEN PRINTED AND ELECTRONIC FORM OF THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION

in printed and electronic form (sent to drzn.fzv@um.si in PDF format or sent on a USB stick).

The student submits the required number of spiral bound copies of the doctoral dissertation. The required number copies is a copy for each committee member for preliminary examination of the doctoral dissertation or at least 4 spiral bound copies of the doctoral dissertation.
