The PIMENTO project aim
s to promote innovation, research, and sustainable development in the field of fermented foods across Europe. Fermented foods play a key role in human health, food safety, and the sustainability of food systems. The project brings together researchers, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and consumers to develop new fermented products, improve technological processes, and enhance understanding of the health and environmental impacts of fermentation.
As a collaborative network, PIMENTO stimulates knowledge exchange, supports small and medium-sized enterprises, develops quality standards, and strengthens Europe’s competitiveness in the fermented food sector. The project also seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of fermented foods and encourage their inclusion in healthy and sustainable dietary patterns.
