Advances in analytical technology are a key factor driving increased detection of pharmaceutical products. Their presence in aquatic environments, even at very low concentrations, raises concerns among experts about potential risks to human health. 

The project will investigate the occurrence, transfer, and circulation of pharmaceutical products in the aquatic environment in relation to the consumption of selected drugs in Slovenian and Austrian hospitals.
