The University of Maribor Faculty of Health Sciences is participating as the implementer of the program entitled "My Choice = You Know What You Eat Choice! 2.0," which it obtained through a public call for co-financing of health protection and promotion programs until 2025 (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 74/22) by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia.
The aim of the project is to increase the supply and availability of nutritionally appropriate and sustainable foods that are important for maintaining the health of society and the environment. It aims to increase the proportion of the target population (students, the general public) who are aware of the importance of a healthy, balanced, and sustainable diet. By achieving the main objectives of the project, namely the implementation of recommendations for healthy and more sustainable choices in the tender conditions for the selection of vending machine suppliers at faculties and health and social care institutions, it can contribute to reducing obesity and improving the eating habits of all age groups.
