Michaela Kováčová and Martina Meškanová from Czech Republic

Since 2nd year of our Bachelor studies we were thinking of applying for the Erasmus+ programme. We were afraid of living in a foreign country, far away from our home and also speaking English. After all it took us 2 years to make this decision and we tried to apply for Erasmus, because we knew that this opportunity is not going to repeat!

We have never been to Slovenia, but everyone we told that we are going to this country, they told us that Slovenia is a wonderful country. Now we know it is true. For these 2 months we have travelled through Slovenia as much as we could, but still we have to say we did not see yet all the beautiful places that Slovenia has.

We also met a lot of new people on Erasmus events, in the hospital and also in our shared apartment. We have made a really nice friendships with people from Slovenia and also with people from all around the world. It sounds like a cliché, but these friendships just hit different when these people are the only ones that you can talk to while you are far away from your home. Thanks to these friendships we got so many nice memories that we bet we will not ever forget.

Now we know that we have to come back to Slovenia, because this place has become our second home!
