My Erasmus+ experience in Maribor
I didn't choose Maribor myself, I just knew I wanted to go somewhere to do one of my practical training as an exchange student and my teacher suggested Maribor. I didn't have anything against it so we chose it. I'm studying nursing and I did my mental health practice in Maribor and I stayed there for 2 months. The only difficulty I had was the language barrier, not that many people spoke English in the hospital where I had some of my practice. I could however manage it and there was always someone who spoke English too. If you speak Germany, there shouldn't be any problem.
Overall it was a great experience and actually, I wished I would've chosen to stay there for the whole semester. But it is good to have the option to do just the practical training, if someone doesn't want to stay as long as the whole semester lasts.
Slovenia is a really beautiful country and even though Maribor is a small city, it has everything you need. In my opinion, it was a better choice than going to a big city. There are also many universities where you can meet local students and other exchange students. You won't get lonely as an Erasmus exchange student in Maribor and I really recommend it.
