On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the solemn inaugural lecture by Prof Sabina Fijan, PhD, took place in the Anton Trstenjak Hall at the University of Maribor, titled: Microbiology and Health: Interdisciplinary Research on Probiotics.

The lecture highlighted the importance of microbiology and contemporary probiotic research for human health. Prof Fijan emphasised the role of interdisciplinary scientific collaboration in developing innovative solutions for the well-being of individuals and society.
