Falling in Love with S-love-nia: My Erasmus at the University of Maribor
It all started with my professor’s advice: “Why not try an exchange program abroad?” That’s how I found myself at the Univerza v Mariboru, Fakulteta za zdravstvene vede (University of Maribor’s Faculty of Health Sciences), and falling in love with S-love-nia.
From day one, the International Office at Fakulteta za zdravstvene vede (Faculty of Health Sciences) made settling in effortless. Friendly faces, smooth paperwork, and so much support made my learning journey seamless.
One of my favorite parts was working on a VR Water Project — using virtual reality to make learning about environmental health exciting. It was amazing to see tech bring education to life. Plus, the lecturers were super cool and always ready to help.
Outside studies, I tasted my way through Slovenia’s rich cuisine — juicy ćevapis and other Balkan delights quickly became my favorites. I also made friends from around the world and explored stunning places (just to mention a few) such as Pohorje, Piran and Portorož by the Adriatic Sea stole my heart.
This experience gave me more than academic credits. It gave me lifelong memories, new perspectives, and friends across borders. If you’re thinking about it, just go! S-love-nia’s warm people and breathtaking sights will make you fall in love too.
