ProSURG is an international scientific research project focused on studying the impact of probiotic intervention on recovery after neurosurgical procedures. One hundred adult participants are participating in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. The study includes monitoring of clinical status, quality of life, pain, and the healing process using validated questionnaires and analysis of blood samples. The project is based on ethical approval and represents a combination of expertise in the fields of clinical medicine, microbiology, and biomedicine. It is being carried out in collaboration between the University of Maribor, Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Austrian AllergoSan Institute.
