Basic Life Support 2025
On May 7, 2025, the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Maribor will organize a free training session in Basic Life Support (BLS). The event will be conducted with the help of students and staff from the Faculty, as well as invited experts from various healthcare and emergency response institutions.
The Faculty is equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) both inside and on the exterior of the building. When used correctly and promptly, AEDs significantly increase safety and survival chances in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
The aim of the training is to improve safety for students, high school and primary school pupils, University of Maribor employees, and members of the local community.
This year, the BLS training will once again include gamification and virtual reality to enhance the learning experience.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Dr. Adolf Drolc Health Centre Maribor, the Slovenian Armed Forces, the Rače Volunteer Fire Department, the Maribor Mountain Rescue Service, and the Secondary School of Nursing and Cosmetics Maribor:
