Short description

The study option Emergency Situations in Health Care enables students an education to work in teams for the critically ill and severely injured in the pre-hospital (family medicine clinics, pre-hospital units, motorcycle ambulance, helicopter emergency medical unit) and hospital environment (emergency department, intensive care units and intensive care). The development of emergency medicine and the establishment of unified emergency centers throughout the country affects the organization of emergency medical services at the primary and secondary level with the aim of continuous, quality care of the patient / injured from the accident place to the hospital bed.

The study provides targeted education of students to work in teams and partially independent decision-making of critically ill and severely injured people. Students acquire knowledge for working in complex and unpredictable circumstances, for independent work and work in medical teams to deal with complex professional issues, critical assessment of patients in emergencies in health care, for quality and reliable early triage of patients and injured in the field and emergency centers with knowledge of assessment scales and for the implementation of emergency diagnostic procedures and participation in therapeutic measures in the field and in the emergency center.
